My mom had to take her Mother-in-law to the hospital for some infusions. While she was there, she saw a small therapy dog named Willow. She's the 3rd on on the first picture. Then she saw these pictures on the wall. Apparently this is the first hospital in Rockford to have a team of therapy dogs "Paws 4 Healing" When you're in the hospital they have a dog come and see you cuz they know that dogs can help people heal. She heard this one lady say that when she was in the hospital that all of a sudden a big Great Dane jumped on the bed to visit her. She said he was very gentle and soothing but just so BIG!!
We just think that this is pretty cool that they offer this to the patients!!
We pups are pawfect at making peeps feel good. Glad to hear that hospitals now realise the healing powers of us furfriends!

Wow, that's so wonderful! Very cool fur sure and I bet the peeps all adore having a furry visitor. I like how the hospital respects and honors the dogs that way.

This is amazing! All hospitals should have therapy dogs! Hope your mother in law is ok!
ReplyDeleteI don't see any terriers. That's discrimination. I did know a small (4 pound) Yorkie that did this.
ReplyDeleteOreo how wonderful to hear about your local hospital's therapy pet program.
ReplyDeleteOMDs Angel Remington's brother Grayson, a Newfie too, was recently certified as a Therapy Dog. He will start working in nursing homes and hospitals in the fall. His mom says he is a very very mellow Newfie...nothing bothers him.

Crikey ..... a great dane for a therapy dog???? I visit my Nan's nursing home. Everyone loves me except for one lady. She ALWAYS says, as she gives me a wide berth, 'I'm scared of dogs with pointy faces ...... they bite'. Imagine if I were a great dane!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO cool! I love how they have their photos hanging on the wall.
