Paw Print

Last Saturday before i left the vets office They made me a paw print of Jazzi for a keepsake. I thought that it was very nice and I just had to bring it home and bake it and add her name. I may make a stepping stone with some things on it. Michaels has some really good sealants to preserve it. Has anyone here made any cool memorials? Today, I got a card from her DR and from Stella Rose, Margaret Mae and Angus. Thanks very much. I loved it.
Also today my 2 yr old granddaughter was over and after awhile she wanted to know where Jazzi was, she looked all over for her.
I explained that she got sick and had to go to heaven. She started crying saying...if she's sick then take her to the Dr grandma, please take her to the DR. I tried to explain it more simplier but it was tough few moments. Its all these first's that are hard.

Addi is coming in the morning for a couple of days. She will be looking for Jazzi, another heart breaking moment coming.

  1. Your Welcome. Firsts are very hard, and it is really hard for the little ones to understand. Hugs.

  3. How wonderful to have her paw print. We wish we had something like that of our older brothers we never knew. Yes, it is hard to explain to kids. Maybe plan some distractions for Addi (as it will be heartbreaking to see her search)?

  5. We love the paw print! When Chico Kitteh passed at the end of June we had one made as well. We are thinking of framing it with a nice picture of him and hanging it in the house somewhere.

Both the urn an'the pawprint sit on the t.v. with a mini-me of Angel Oreo.

Our mom duz not haf any little peepz around - hazn't fur a long time butt even when Angel Oreo left us fur the Bridge an'even tho mom took Shiloh along when Angel Oreo went tue the Bridge - there were a couple of timez that Shiloh did go lookin'fur Angel Oreo - yes, thoze furst timez r furry much hard az it made our mom almost cry when she saw Shiloh searchin'fur him.

  8. We have a framed picture of our first dog. We tape a lock of fur or feathers (as the case may be) to the picture and it is in the bedroom so everyone is with us.

  9. The Paw Print is a PERFECT thing.
It is SO difficult for little ones to understand... Heck, it is difficult for ADULTS to deal with.

  14. the paw print is such a nice idea. We have our memorial garden, with a large memorial rock we had custom engraved. Then smaller rocks with the pugs names on them. It is a peaceful area.

  23. Heartbreaking moments, how can a two yr old understand when adults can't. Hugs for comfort. Thank you for telling about Jazzi's paw print. Such a nice memorial to have. I will be looking for molds to do this now for Fergus and Guinness. I like the idea of Christmas ornaments. I love seeing the wet little prints when they come up the stairs after being in the wet grass. Gotta go wipe the tears away...again.
